Kelissa Peterson

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I love helping people and hope to be able to help you! I have been privileged to work in a variety of social work settings including hospice, outpatient mental health, adolescent residential treatment, and a juvenile detention center. I’ve been working in private practice for three years and have helped people work through difficult relationships, grief, stress, trauma, poor boundaries, low self-esteem and other challenges that cause varying levels of distress. Ten years ago I took a career break for a few years to stay home with my babies during which time I learned about mental illness on a personal level. My experience with Post-Partum Depression increased my empathy in many ways and gave me a better understanding of how hard it can be to seek and accept help for mental and emotional symptoms. Making that call is hard! So send me a text if that’s easier and I hope to help you feel comfortable opening up in therapy. I am LGBTQIA safe and affirming.

When I’m not seeing clients I like to spend time with my family and friends, listen to audiobooks and podcasts while I ride my bike, hike or walk in nature. I also love to bake…chocolate chip cookies are my favorite!
